Introducing Deepgram Brain

BY Scott Stephenson  | October 10 2017

Fast and free AI powered speech-to-text, sound search, web editor built for humans, and an API for machines.

We built Deepgram brain to alleviate the pain of searching through audio and transcribing speech. By offering our A.I. generated transcriptions to the world, for free, we’re unleashing new possibilities of what you can do with your audio.

We’ve been hard at work packaging our deep learning speech-to-text and word sound search technology into a useful tool thato helps anybody struggling with transcribing conversations, phone calls, video and more.

Here’s how it works:
  1. Drag and drop to upload any audio file
  2. Search by sound, not just the text, to find exactly what you’re looking for
  3. Edit using the transcript editor to make it perfect
  4. Use the transcription for closed captions, meeting notes, and boosting SEO

Recently Deepgram launched brain to a limited number of users in private beta. Now, we’re excited to introduce brain to the world. Anyone can sign up and upload their audio and video files to get free, high-quality transcriptions faster than ever. While brain is very accurate you don’t have to rely on perfection to still find exactly what you’re looking for. Our word sound search allows you to find words by their sound, not just their outputted text. This means that for the first time ever, you can find exactly when something was said, before ever reviewing or editing your transcript.

If you’re looking for something specific that was said brain can find words by their sound, not just the text, so you are able to get exactly what you’re looking for without reviewing and editing your transcript

Early brain users have uploaded and transcribed thousands of hours and provided us with great feedback. With their input, we’ve made it easier than ever to turn audio into text with an intuitive transcript editor and a powerful search model to help you find those pivotal moments.

Here are a few ways users are already using brain:

  • Transcribing calls and meetings for perfect, searchable notes
  • Turning recorded lectures, podcast, talks, and interviews into complete transcripts
  • Creating captions or subtitles for videos.
